What Breakout Is About
A typical PT experience can help you recover from injury, but what happens afterward?
The Breakout PT experience is focused on being able to partner with the client to address their concerns, and work together to identify goals and the pathway to achieve them!
Why Breakout Is Different
Getting You Back To What You Love
-
Your wellness is a lifelong journey and not meant to be pursued alone.
Showing up for yourself allows you to show up for others and sets the example of the way you should chase your dreams.
You will never be set up to achieve this on your own, but supported as you return to your favorite activities better than you were before.
-
A typical PT experience addresses the complaint and then sends you on your way. The Breakout PT experience is focused on being able to partner with the client to address their concerns and work together to identify goals and the PT pathway to achieve them.
We choose to assess with a wide lens that looks at the whole person, considers past experiences, injuries, and whole body presentation to allow a comprehensive treatment intervention.
PT shouldn’t just be something to check off the list to get done before you get back to what you love. It should be integrated into your return, allowing adjustment of the plan while you’re actively participating in your activity.
-
Together, we’ll assess your whole person to build a pathway from your current concern to desired activity
This means we aren’t just looking at the physical presentation of your injury.
We look at your nervous system, readiness for change, recovery (including sleep, nutrition, and other methods), and current exercise habits.
We start with a level of change that is feasible to make, and use this to rebuild your strength and return you to living your life the way that life is meant to be lived.
Hi, I’m Sam!
I started this business because I realized that society’s narrative around injury and performance is to go through the same “typical” physical therapy experience and then be on your own once you’re “ready” to return to [insert your favorite activity here].
A typical PT experience can help to recover from injury, but what happens in the after?
My goal with Breakout Physical Therapy and Wellness is to not only assist each client in relief from pain and injury, but to also rebuild their strength and regulate their nervous system. From here, I partner with each client WHILE they return to the activities they love!

Growing up, I was a high level swimmer - competing both at the high school and collegiate level. Through this time, I learned a lot about both the mental and physical side of injury and return to sport.
I experienced injuries to my shoulders and ankles throughout my swimming career that required time out of the pool and weight room.
From there, I found myself performing multiple rounds of physical therapy, and an overall feeling of loneliness, despite working with different professionals to help get me ready to get back in the pool.
I did the work, was physically prepared to the best of our knowledge, and then was thrown back into swimming with the expectation I would perform just as well as before.
The reality was that I experienced challenges adjusting to activities on my own, recovering appropriately, and feeling like I had someone in my corner.
My goal with Breakout Physical Therapy and Wellness is to not only assist each client in relief from pain and injury, but to also rebuild their strength and regulate their nervous system. From here, I partner with each client WHILE they return to the activities they love!

I was born and raised in Anchorage, AK, moved away for school, and am now back living here full time.
I grew up performing at a high athletic level, and I am now passionate about partnering with others to help them do the same.
When I am not working, I love being able to strength train in the gym, enjoy the outdoors with my family, and continue to improve my own athletic skills.

Values
-
There is no “one size fits all” approach in these programs.
Each person is different, and I firmly believe their program should reflect that. This is a place for you to be unique, and for us to celebrate that!
-
Although I typically work with clients following an injury as a physical therapist, I would rather promote injury prevention.
I love providing education on topics that allow clients to be informed and empowered through their own health.
-
My role is simple - provide you the tools to improve your quality of life and reach your goals. I stand along side you and support you every step of the way.
I want to be your biggest cheerleader and provide accountability to your daily life.
