Kind Words From Clients

As an adult-onset swimmer, I got a bit too enthusiastic about trying to learn to swim over last fall and winter. And since I wasn't swimming with proper technique, I ended up with an overuse injury of my shoulder. My shoulder was extremely painful--not just while swimming, but while doing other physical exercise like running, cross-country skiing, and even just daily activities like opening a cupboard, or rolling over in bed at night! I went to Sam to first try and alleviate the pain, and I also hoped that she would be able to help me learn to swim properly so I wouldn't hurt myself.

I am delighted to report that Sam was able immediately to help me dial the shoulder pain down with isometric exercises. We moved then into strengthening exercises and technique work in the pool. Over the past several months, Sam has helped me solve my shoulder problems and even more exciting, she's really helped me with my swimming technique. I'm swimming pain-free and have become faster and more efficient in the pool!

I highly recommend Sam--especially to anyone who has shoulder pain and/or wants to improve their swimming technique!

I've had a nagging calf injury for more than a decade that has sidelined my goal of someday running a marathon several times. Sam was able to quickly diagnose that my issue isn't really my calf, it's other weak leg and feet muscles that the calf is compensating for.

Sam put me on a training plan to strengthen my hips and hamstrings in addition to providing a general running and aerobic weekly schedule.

Sam also follows up and checks in on my progress. She's enthusiastic and has my goals in mind. I would certainly recommend her services to others.

Sam worked with my son when he sprained his ankle during a basketball game. She was so helpful and kind as she assessed the injury then gave him exercises to help in his recovery.

He was eager to get back playing and the work he did with her helped him return faster! I would highly recommend working with Sam. She is knowledgeable, easy going and fun to work with. You can tell she really cares about her work and her clients.

I can't recommend working with Sam enough! She is a thoughtful, thorough PT and I really appreciate being able to communicate with her between sessions when I have a question about my exercises or experience an unexpected injury.

Highly recommend her practice for your PT needs!

Sam was amazing to work with. I was hoping to improve flexibility and core strength. Both of which were achieved as a result of working with her.

She was able to design a custom program to fit my needs and I saw improvement in my range of motion almost immediately.

The video instructions were super helpful and I referred to them in the beginning while I was learning the movements. The format was easy to use and she changed things as I progressed week by week.

Communication was easy and I felt very supported throughout our time together. I would highly recommend her to others looking to make improvements in their physical health.

Sam helped me regain strength in my shoulder from a months-old sports injury and a many years old sports injury to my left knee.

Before I visited Sam, my shoulder was regularly stiff and in pain, and my knee gave me sharp pain when putting weight on it at random times. Sam diagnosed both injuries, established an effective rehab/exercise regimen, and explained how each exercise would impact my body.

Sam was always professional, diligent, and good-natured, from assessment to exercises to accountability. She's also flexible and willing to work with you to identify ways to keep you on track with your exercises (she has an app!) and get to a pain-free life.

Best yet: Sam helps to hold you accountable. She doesn't just give you exercises and walk away. She consistently checks in to see if we need to make any accommodations based on my ability to complete the exercises and move forward with recovery.

I highly recommend Samantha Wicks/Breakout Physical Therapy!

Sam was able to see me for PT when I needed it most. Exercises she gave were easy to follow and we had periodic check ins to adjust the exercises as needed. I've had less neck pain and better movement, which I am really thrilled about.

Making appointments was convenient and not complicated, which I appreciate as someone with a fairly busy schedule. I'm able to sleep more comfortably and get back to doing more physical things at the cabin like splitting and stacking wood as well as exercising with less pain. Thank you Sam.

I sought out physical therapy when I was having progressively worse pain during a first pregnancy. I was really grateful for the comprehensive assessment I got and custom exercises to do on my own time.

Everything was laid out to where I could feasibly get exercises done, even when I went on a trip out of the continent. I was able to work long shifts with less pain up until birth. Plus Sam was really attentive and checked in with me throughout.
